Confirm ID for anyone entering Moffitt (don't assume it's security!)

There have been two instances of an unauthorized person entering Moffitt through the Main Stacks entrance, right past our Info Desk.

If you are stationed at the Main Stacks desk, please do not assume that someone entering Moffitt works with Security or Facilities. You need to CONFIRM this by stopping the person and asking them to show ID. If they are a student-worker then they should also be able to answer the question "who is your supervisor?"

I know it might feel awkward asking them to identify themselves, but do not fail to do this. It is a huge safety risk to allow unauthorized people into Moffitt while it is closed, so we must be diligent in IDing people before letting them enter.

One last thing-- as with all of our access policies, if someone refuses to show ID and rushes past you, then you should immediately call security to let them know an unauthorized person entered the premises without permission.
