There was a Craigslist ad recently asking to borrow a Cal1 card for entry into Moffitt Library. As we all know, Cal1 cards are non-transferable and this is strictly prohibited in our building code of conduct. Furthermore, this patron could gain entry by going through the proper channels and getting a blue day pass from the Privileges Desk to enter the Stacks.
We know that is difficult to look at the photos on Cal1 cards when patrons are moving quickly, so we are going to permanently put up the stanchions that we normally reserve for finals. This should slow the flow of traffic at Moffitt 3 and allow you to get a better look at each Cal1 card. Please be sure you are asking to see the picture if it is hidden behind their thumb or wallet and be vigilant about the ID photo marching its holder.
