Study room key ≠ Cal1 Card

If you have checked out a study room, you know that Circulation will take your Cal1 Card in exchange for the study room key. This poses a problem for the Info Desks if people leave the library and then want to be let back in with no ID.

Unfortunately, a study room key does not have a photo on it, and therefore, we cannot verify that the person with the key is the same person that checked it out.

Bottom line:
Study room key ≠ Cal1 Card

If a patron wants to leave, they need to trade in the key at Circulation to get their ID back. Circulation will hold the key for them while they do what they need to do outside of the building.

If the patron has already exited the building and is trying to come back with only the key, direct them to Circulation to verify their identify. At Moffitt 3, they can ask Circulation by the bookdrop counter, and at Moffitt 4 you can grab a Circulation worker to help them. The patron will be reminded to bring the key back the next time they leave the building.
