Only Cal1 Cards and yellow cards may enter into Moffitt, with the exception of the cards listed in the post titled, "Summary of Visitor Access to Moffitt and Main Stacks."
However, members of the UC Alumni Association who are also California residents are eligible to procure a blue library borrowing card at Privileges during our normal business hours. While this card does not provide entry into Moffitt, they can enter the Main Stacks via the Doe portal.
If an alumni member arrives with only their Alumni Association Membership Card when the Privileges Desk is closed, they should be advised to come back during Privileges open hours to procure a proper Blue Library Borrowing card.
The blue card will give access to the Main Stacks collection through the Doe portal AND will allow the the ability to borrow materials from the collection. All they need to establish the blue library borrowing card is their current UC Alumni Association Membership Card with their California State ID Card or driver license, if they have questions about California residency requirements they should be directed to the Privileges Desk, they could call (510) 642-3403 or email privdesk@library.berkeley.edu before planning to come to the desk to set up their library privileges .
Let me reiterate, Alumni are NOT allowed in to Moffitt but may be eligible for a card to enter Main Stacks through Doe.
