Periodically you may see students coming to the Moffitt portal (ideally with their student IDs, but sometimes..) without a student ID but instead a lanyard with a badge like above, BAKER SERVICE.
These are student employees (similar to yourselves) and should be allowed to enter the Moffitt entrance even without a Cal ID card IF THEY HAVE THE YELLOW BAKER/ILL badge.
Baker is a fee based Document Delivery Service for UCB faculty, staff, graduate students, and UCOP staff with current UCB library cards. They are the mobile hands of Inter-Library Loan (ILL), in charge of procuring (paging) books for shipping out, sometimes scanning and photocopying articles requested; and also delivering materials to those on campus with BAKER accounts willing to pay for delivery. Both Interlibrary Loan and Baker departments work out of the 133 Doe office. We are accommodating their request for this YELLOW BAKER BADGE allowance as a professional courtesy.
In short, the BAKER badge above is the equivalent of a Cal 1 Photo ID card for all
intents and purposes at the Moffitt entrance for BAKER/ILL employees.
