What if someone leaves ID in Moffitt, how can they get back in?

"What we are suppose to do when a student goes outside of Moffitt (for example to go to the cafe) and then wants to re-enter but they say that they left their ID inside Moffitt with all of their other stuff?"

Three options:

1) Have them call whomever they left the ID/belongings with to bring out the ID card.

2) Take collateral while patron gets ID
Using your best judgment, and at your discretion, you may hold something they absolutely need (e.g. wallet, backpack, etc.) as collateral to allow them in to get their card and return to entrance to prove the ID Card was downstairs to reclaim their "collateral."  If they have nothing to leave as collateral, they must have left their things with a friend so calling is their only way in

3) If staffing allows, the extra may be called down to escort the forgotten ID patron to their belongings for ID confirmation.

Security is NOT to be called to solve the student's ID problem, all have been advised they must have ID to enter. If the extra is unavailable, ask your supervisor and then Circulation.
