Moffitt Library - Closed Spring & (likely) Summer 2022

Moffitt Library will close for seismic renovation for the spring and summer 2022 semesters.

Some of you may have seen the news that Moffitt will be closing next semester. While not all of the details have been finalized yet, I'd like to share with you all what we do know.

• ALL floors of Moffitt Library will be closed throughout the entirety of the Spring 2022 semester. This closure is necessary to bring Moffitt up to earthquake building code and ensure the safety of library workers and visitors. It's a bit early to know for certain, but it seems likely that these renovations will continue throughout the summer 2022 semester as well.
• This means we will only be staffing the Doe North, Doe South, and Main Stacks Info Desks during the renovation.
• Doe Library and the Main Stacks will have extended hours will have extended hours after we hire a new Late-Night Circulation Supervisor. The late hours will have Doe closing at 2am Sunday through Thursday.
• We will be conducting ID checks (similar to what we do at Moffitt) during the later open hours. The exact time when we will begin checking IDs has not been confirmed, but the goal is to keep Doe Library exclusive for students during these late night hours.
• Food and drinks will still NOT be allowed inside Doe/Main. Without Moffitt, we'll likely see a rise in students trying to bring food/drinks in, so we will need to be extra vigilant at the desks.
