Moffitt - Closing Routines - Revised!

Since there has been some confusion regarding who is responsible for opening/closing Moffitt, the below should clarify any confusion.  In short, WE (infodesk) are responsible for unlocking the doors in the morning AND responsible for locking the doors end of the night.

As an amendment to the established procedures, we have agreed to leave the Moffitt "Mouse Key" in the phone drawer throughout the course of the day, brought down every morning for the opening, and RETURNED every night to Doe South to be locked up in the key drawer every night by the closing shift workleader.

Closing:
Couldn't be easier, as the last shift at Moffitt, you only need to do a few things:

1)  LOCK the front doors at closing time (as appropriate each day); and LOCK the door to the classrooms (by the copy center) - TEST each door you have locked, and make sure they can not be opened!
2)  Ensure no one comes into the library through the doors at closing time; if they do advise them the library is closed (no exceptions).
3)  Wait for Security to bounce the Library and advise you "all clear"
4)  Grab the MOUSE KEY, 2-way radio, any lost & found items, and head back up to Doe South to clock-out

It is crucial, you DO NOT leave in advance of confirming the building is bounced and the doors are locked.  Moffitt Circulation staff (if present) are not responsible for locking up Moffitt and should not be asked to lock-up.

As always if you have any questions or have not yet locked the Moffitt Doors, please inquire how with the Info Desk Supe or a coworker before it is a crisis!
